Drop and Add Policies
After initially registering for classes, a student is free to adjust his/her schedule by adding and dropping courses whenever the eNRoll system is available. Adjustments of tuition and fee charges will be reflected on the consolidated student billings which are generated monthly.
Dates to Add a Course
- Pre-Session
- March 10-May 20
- 8-Week Session
- March 10-May 22
- 1st 5-Week Session
- March 10-June 11
- 2nd 5-Week Session
- March 10-July 16
Change Course Section
To change a class section before the add deadline for a session, use the eNRoll drop/add process. Be sure there is space available in the new section before dropping the current section. If the summer session has already begun, a request must be processed in person at the Registration and Records Office.
Dates to Drop a Course Without It Appearing on Academic Record
The amount of tuition and fee refund for courses dropped is determined by the date the drop is processed. For a course to not appear on a student's permanent academic record, it must be dropped during the first week of the summer session. The date for each session is:
- Pre-Session
- May 23
- 8-Week Session
- May 23
- 1st 5-Week Session
- June 13
- 2nd 5-Week Session
- July 18
Withdrawal from a Course
Summer is treated as one term for record keeping purposes. Students who withdraw (drop) from all classes after the beginning of the Pre- and Eight-week sessions will have a term withdrawal notation and the date noted on their academic record (even if no courses are recorded for the summer). Any course withdrawal after the first week of a session will result in a "W" being posted to a student's record for all courses involved. The deadline to withdraw from a course for each summer session is:
- Pre-Session
- June 4
- 8-Week Session
- June 27
- First 5-Week Session
- July 2
- Second 5-Week Session
- August 6
Any withdrawal after these deadlines will only be granted under extraordinary circumstances by petition to the student's Dean's Office.
Effective Date of a Drop or Add
A drop or add becomes effective for tuition and grade purposes on the date the transaction is processed through eNRoll or the form is filed with the Registration and Records Office.
